I woke up the next morning feeling more tired than I was when I went to bed. I groaned, rubbing my tired eyes and sat up. I wanted to go back to sleep and try to forget about the chores I had to do today, but something about that morning felt unsettling. My sister was usually up by now, but the house was eerily quiet. I stood, walking over to my door that was creaked open a bit. The early morning sunlight shined through the large window above the stairway, making everything seem bright. I blinked a few times, getting used to the sudden change of light, and preceded to the stairway.

Adrianna had a boyfriend named Thomas, a vampire who had moved to our town a few weeks ago. He came over to the house every day after only the first week they had dated. Adrianna said he was sweet, caring, and a gentleman. But I knew he didn’t really like me. Well, I couldn’t really blame him; after all, I was always playing pranks on him. The last time he came over, I had cleaned the floors but left it wet so he would slip on it. I thought it was funny until Adrianna found out.
